A blackened shroud, a hand-me-down gown

While I try to decide if my credit card can take the strain of ATP... Stephen Meisel's All Tomorrow's Parties' themed shoot for Vogue Italia June 2009.

The hair and makeup is really doing it for me. I started a trend piece for A/W at work today, and I've been getting a total boner over all the textured hair. Can you call this texture? Maybe 'fuzz' is more accurate. Anyway, the hardest part of this task is finding a celebrity that's attempted the look. It's always the same with trend pieces. In many ways, celebrities are like the popular girls at school. Even if they follow fashion and wear good/interesting clothes, they never go all out with the hair and makeup. Even the hottest, coolest (uhm), most awesome slebs and models don't pick up on ~outrageous~ hair trends. Fuckers.

Pics c/o The Fashion Spot, obvers.

My search for the biggest hat on the planet rolls on. Topshop had the most perfect one, but it was on their website for approx. 32 minutes before disappearing, never to be seen again. Everything else I've seen is just too small. It needs to cause a solar eclipse every time I wear it.

This Helene Berman number that's just arrived on ASOS looks like it could be man enough for the job, but it's kinda out of my price range right now (£84!). I'm having my usual problem of thinking/knowing that a better, cheaper, vintage version is out there. Oh well. ASOS have sales pretty often, right?

I've not worn a watch for the best part of 5 years, so it was pretty exciting to slip this bad boy on my wrist this morning. My Canadian twin, Mel sent me it as a gift for being awesome (I think that's what she said, her handwriting is pretty bad).

I know everyone is all over ~retro~ digital watches, but this Furni is way cooler than your average gold-Casio-from-Argos. For starters, it has a phone book. I mean, is that normal with watches? I know nothing about them, but as far as I know, that's not a usual feature. I showed it someone at work today and they basically freaked out about the phone book part. The only thing that would improve it would be if I could call people through the watch. Other good things; it's made in collaboration with Raised By Wolves, and says it on the front. Gnarly! On the back it says, "this ain't the time to have your wrists freezin'". What does this mean? I don't even know, but I like it.

I'm 100% back on board with watches. Today I didn't have to get my phone out of my bag every 20 seconds to check the time, which is a usual part of my day. I've effectively won time back. THANKS MEL! <3

Buy your own Furni watch here. Go for cyan like me, it's awesome.

Don't forget the joker...

After talking about Alice In Wonderland over on Catwalk Queen earlier, I've inadvertently come across something else vaguely related. This Moschino Cheap and Chic ring is cute, and nicely fits into my chosen ring categories of 'big and beefy' or 'comical'. They're [obviously?] stackable, but I can't see why you would ever want to wear them separately. The joy is in the piling.

I've not had much joy locating them anywhere except on US site Gilt, which is like Cocosa or something I guess. It's worth signing up just to drool over things, although there's no buying to be had for non-US residents. Wah wah.

This is a public service announcement. Peaches [don't you dare say Geldof, I'm talking about The Queen] will be at Tatty Devine's Brick Lane Boutique from 2pm on Saturday 27th June. She's not swinging by to say hi and pick up a dino necklace (tho she probably will)... no sir, the lovely and talented Tatty Devine girls have designed a range of jewellery for Peaches to wear on her upcoming US tour and she'll be in town to show it off/sign your boobs/be awesome/kill Peaches Geldof in a fist fight.

I can't be there because I have a hot date with my mama, but if you're around, you should most definitely get your Chrissy behinds down there. (See what I did?)
