I'm so sorry for the lack of posts, I'm hard at work in the Tower of Terror this week and have also had a hectic social schedule.Posted by Administrator
Normal service to resume very soon. Like, tomorrow.
PS I can't stop listening to the Dawn Landes cover of Young Folks, how about you?

I was reminded today of a great photographer that I haven't thought about for a while -- Inge Morath. You might know her best for this picture;Posted by Administrator

But there's more to her work than llamas and taxis, honest.

I never got into that whole owl necklace craze that went on last year. Owls tend to remind me of Owlma, the robotic bird/monster from Greenclaws -- remember her? (You can thank me later for reminding you of that GEM). And if I'm not thinking of Owlma, it's Plop -- The Owl That Was Afraid of the DarkPosted by Administrator
Still, I'm starting to get over my owl 'thing'. I'm still not into the jewellery with dangly birds resembling my mum's macramé wall hanging from the 70s, but this etched copper necklace from Seattle-based artist Jessi Frenkel is something a bit different.

Just the right combination of demonic eyes and fluffy feathers. Plop it ain't (snigger). Buy it heeere.

Tuesday is nearly over, and you know what that means. Time for some bluegrass. Posted by Administrator
Here's the delightful (and she really is), Dawn Landes, with a superb rendition of the Peter Bjorn and John hit/bag 'o shite, Young Folks. Watch out for the old folks (IRONIC) in this video;

In the run up to New York Fashion week, it's come to my attention that yet another party I should be attending isn't going to be happening... Cast your eyes, if you will, over this motley crew (I still struggle to not spell that Mötley Crüe);Posted by Administrator

Yes, that's a party hosted by Chloe Sevigny, sponsored by MAC, in association with Self Service Magazine, with a guest appearance by the Slits. And no, I'm not invited. Considering I'm obsessed with all of the above to at least slightly deranged level, I'm offended.
Assuming you've been missed off the guest list too, appease yourself with this;
JUST LIKE BEING THERE. Kinda.
