At the opposite end of the shopping scale to the couture shows... UK budget superstore Primark has just leaked their spring collection to the press.Posted by Administrator
My good friends over at Catwalk Queen showed the pictures off this evening, and I'm sure everything will be a sell out... Nothing's more than £10, and the only question really is whether or not I can bear to buy something that everyone else and their mother will be wearing...

See more of the collection under the cut...

Whenever people ask me who my style icon is, I respond Ronnie Spector. This is largely because a lot of people don’t know who she is, and it makes me sound cool. It’s also because no matter how nicely dressed they are, Audrey Hepburn, Gwen Stefani and Carrie Bradshaw are pretty cliché answers. But the main reason I answer with Ronnie is because she’s my hero.Posted by Administrator

I was trying to think of something HILARIOUS to write in the subject line for literally half an hour, but to be brutally honest, Armani doesn't pump up much in the way of punnery for me. I'd go as far as to say, it bores me. This isn't the fault of Armani, it's my fault for being crass and tasteless. Armani is the label beloved of beautiful ladies with classic wardrobes, not loud-mouthed Northerners with a penchant for Slayer.Posted by Administrator
Nevertheless, it’s always good to broaden your horizons, and for that reason I always make an effort to check out the shows by designers I have little to no interest in – which leads me to the Armani Privé couture collection which took place yesterday.

If anyone knows how to 'do' Couture week, it's Monsieur le Galliano. I mean really. This is what it's all about. Stupid hats, massive dresses, and make-up so heavy the models can't keep their eyes open.Posted by Administrator
Drawing inspiration from 60s Vogue editor, Diane Vreeland, the Symbolist painters and Gustav Klimt, by way of John Sargent's Madame X, this was a suitably OTT, suitably Galliano collection. Eye-watering colour, jewels and gems, and Stephen Jones-tastic lampshade hats -- the papers may be full of recession fears and Black Monday debts, but in a glittery corner of Paris OTT glamour still ruled OK.
