Following on from those galaxy crotch trousers I wrote about ages ago... Today on Pipeline they posted these amazing Nebula shoes from Zazzle.com. Wow, only about 1000x nicer than any other trainers I've seen this year. I don't get how they manage to make these so awesome and then still see fit to offer this as a legit accessory that they assume people will purchase;

... but who am I to question it?

The world's got some plans for me

I've always been pretty vocal about my love for Henry Rollins. I'm obsessed, I fantasise about how cool it would be if he was my dad, that kind of thing. I thought I had the monopoly on pictures of him but when I was Googling something the other day this sprang up out of the blue and just about blew my tiny mind.

Anyone who know Hank but at all will be aware that his thoughts on personal style pretty much go: Dickies/Vans/t-shirt. That's the way it's been for the last thirty years, why change the habit of a lifetime. It makes me feel a bit gross and ashamed of myself to talk about the FASHION behind this picture because it's the last thing our man would have ever even considered, but let's just whisper how much I love those rolled sleeves. Amazing.

Every cool guy needs a popular girl

[Not the world's biggest Olsen fan but this is essentially what I wear every Saturday morning to go and buy the paper with a hangover and it's in my top five best looks ever.]

It's good to see that even though The Team are temporarily disbanded, everyone seems to be blogging hard through their respective illnesses. I just looked at Iso's blog and lo and behold, she's written a post about long skirts. This is a subject close to my heart, as she mentions, and without wanting to piggy back onto her post too much, I do feel the need to mention that only today I was considering more long purchases.

As a 5'1" midget with a beer baby belly, general consensus states that I have no business wearing maxi anything, but as Iso reports, I do. The paisley skirt she mentions is my number one favourite item of clothing (99p, Ryan Vintage opening day) and as she also says, whenever I wear it people tell me how good it looks. I recently bought that orange maxi dress from ASOS that I posted about (above!) and a woman literally chased me through Old Street station to tell me that it looked great. Her words actually were, "I love what you're wearing, it's so bright and colourful it's made my day." Pretty cute, but fucking weird because as I stepped off the escalator and thanked her, a girl came down in the opposite direction wearing the same damn frock. FOR REAL! Was odd.

Anyway, as I mentioned... Today I was checking out an array of maxis so it's a weird coincidence Iso wrote about the subject too. They're definitely due a revival; join me.

All these bad boys are from ASOS, details as follows...
L-R Top: Mink Pink Tie Dye Jersey Maxi Dress, £65; Motel Zebra Rose Maxi Vest Dress, £35
L-R Bottom: Motel Dogtooth Chain Long Sleeve Maxi Dress, £40; Where Are You Now Josie Tower Bridge T-Shirt, £65

Let's get quizical

Disappointingly we've had to bail out on the Fashionable Pub Quiz this week owing to a selection of miserable reasons. Personally I'm currently swabbing out my eye on an hourly basis thanks to a nasty case of blepharitis. G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, I know. Still, following our triumphant win last week, I think we can handle a week off.

In related jolly exciting news, tonight we made it into the Evening Standard! I can't say it's my paper of choice but still a treat to see our name(s) in the news. I've had a variety of congratulatory messages, but credit must also go to my venerable team mates, Iso, Silver and Sam. Team, I'm proud.

Here's a link to the article. All our team names are mentioned and there's also a reference to Pepe Le Pugh, who I have reposted above for anyone that missed him.

I wanna do a joint venture

Madame Wee Birdy just posted these pics from the Emma Cook SS10 look book. Not arsed about the frocks (or shoes - wtf?) but hey, guess what! I love that hair. Bit more of a sophisticated take on the omnipresent hair bow and way more appropriate for a pensioner like me. Kind of victory rolls and a Gaga bow rolled (LOL) into one.

I think the delightful and ever on the ball Paul Mitchell team did a look like this last year in some of their promo material, gotta see if I can track that down. In the mean time, I was gonna try this look tomorrow but I'm planning to wear a particularly bright dress and people always look at me like I'm special when I have that on anyway, don't want to add to it with a weird 'do too.
