Grimey, nasty, bogus

OK, so I am totes ashamed I missed this. I've had my head hung all day and if it will make anyone feel better I'll spend tomorrow wearing a hat with a 'D' on it, standing in a corner with my back the office.

The gals at WAH Magazine know nails. That much we know. What I didn't know is that they're opening their own nail salon. Wha'? I know. If you want a job doing properly, do it yourself. The salon is set to open in Dalston at some point in the not too distant future... I'll keep you posted. For now, bookmark the WAH Nails site and check out the WAH nails blog -- I'm kind of in pain with jealousy looking at the Pro Beauty Show pics.

She's a hunchback and when she does the twist I just can't resist

I went to the Aveda Insitute in Covent Garden the other week for one of their amazing new De-Hunch massages with the awesome Gevi. It's an express massage designed (mostly) for women who lug around heavy handbags and wear stupid shoes and end up with fucked up backs. It was an incredible treatment, and I felt pretty smug when she told me that ACTUALLY my posture and bones and muscles and whatevs were in pretty good shape. SO THERE. They also do a massage for Blackberry hand!!

Anyway, if I were to change my ways and be tempted into using an appropriate bag, it would obviously be one of the Eley Kishimoto for Eastpak designs. When Eley did this design on plates a few years back I was all over it, but my nice set of crockery doesn't really get the airing it deserves so onwards and upwards. I have a weird fondness for the 'The One' bag, even though it looks like something a European exchange student would use.

BUY THEM at Urban. BY the way... I'm glad they've reintroduced this print on their clothing...

I saw the latest Né-Net collection in the Metro this morning (lol, it's where I get all my scoops) and was kinda curious about the weird bear/dog-looking beast in the background of this photo.

Just looking at it chilling/looming there is making me snort. He looks like a piñata. Anyway, the collection is... what? Lucha libre meets the Cartoons. Who cares, the big dog is what I'm about.

Pics c/o The Fashion Cult and Charlotte Observer.

Not trying to say my style is better than yours

I'm really obsessed with Concrete Hermit at the moment. I was looking for presents for my better half's birthday but, alas, the Anthony Burrill print I was after is sold out (should tell you it's still available here at Soma Gallery tho!).

Anyway, no joy on the print but the t-shirt supply is as epic as usual. This Jody Barton Kiss The Fist is my favourite, although I kind of feel like I'm missing something. I feel like I'd be one of those people walking around with a novelty Ramones t-shirt on going, 'Jeffrey who?'. Is it some kind of sex reference? It must be.

Also got a lot of time for this classic John Slade Pencil Attack number. Reminds me of Neil Buchanan.

Thunder precedes the sunlight

Last year, I went to see The Mighty Zohan with Charleen from work. It wasn't out of choice, I should mention. It's a terrible film about hairdressing and some of our PR pals put on a screening which we were obliged to attend. I guess I'm being a bit harsh. It was actually a pretty good night and when you're up to your eyeballs in booze most films are a bit funny at least. Anyway, the real highlight of the film was Mariah Carey's cameo. When she appeared on screen (TOTES unexpected) I may just have screamed.

Ever since that night, I've been looking for the Mariah rainbow shirt that's seen at some point in the film. You know the one. The Rainbow one from the tour of the same name. You know it. I've not had much luck anyway. One came up this weekend on Ebay but it's £21 which seems kind of a lot, considering I was looking to pay in the £2-3 region.

Any bright ideas where I might find one?
