Sad news. Nagi Noda, creator of the amazing hair hats (amongst many, many other things) passed away this weekend aged just 35. D:
Wear something stupid on your head as a mark of respect, and watch and enjoy one of her many amazing videos;

In my official capacity as someone who writes about hair and makeup;Posted by Administrator
My favourite hair was the squashy rolled buns at Philip Lim. Easy to copy = win.

My favourite make-up was the (controversial) purple lips at Zac Posen. I used to have a flip up lipstick (remember them? I think Avon are bringing them back) from 17 at Boots in this exact shade.

What can I say? Frosted lipstick is my weakness.

That piano intro does inexplicable things to me. How I'll cope later in the week is beyond me.

This week I'll mostly be channeling Cleopatra. No not that one. This one. God they were brilliant. Even when they looked like this (especially, some might say). If you want to see what they look like these days, check here, but let me warn you, they look nowhere near as badass these days. All glamorous and grown-up, less neon and goggles-on-the-head-chic. Shame.
This perhaps unlikely motivation came about after 1) seeing someone rocking a pair of safety goggles over a trapper hat on the train; 2) buying dungarees and 3) receiving a sample of the fabulous Revlon Midnight Affair, which is the exact shade of navy blue that I used to wear at school.

All I need now is to borrow Andy's safety goggles from work, and grow my hair a bit.

Heavy Load were in the Guardian today, and the docu-film of the same name about them is out pretty soon, buuuuuuuuuuuut honest guvnor I've been meaning to write about them for ages.
Without resorting to the boring facts too much, they're basically a band made up of musicians with (and without) learning disabilities. But that's not of any interest really, the point is, they're fucking awesome. They call themselves Brighton's answer to the Ramones, but decide for yourselves. We Love George Michael is inspired. I have no idea how to inbed music, so just go to the Myspace and listen to everything instead.
