This season I hope to be playing for Bournville 2nds.

24/09/2005 - Kings Heath vs Bournville Friendly - 8-2 Win - 4 Goals
1st was a reverse stick push that slipped through the keepers legs from the left. 2nd and 3rd were sweeps from a rebound off the PC (Penalty Corner), easy pickings into the net from around the p-spot. 4th was a 2nd reverse stick after beating a few players and nudging it in via the keepers leg.

1/10/2005 - Bournville 5ths vs Old Sils - 9-0? Win - 3 Goals
Conflicting umpiring duties and games led to playing for the lower side. 1st goal was a reverse stick sweep high and past the keeper's head, 2nd a sweetly struck shot from a PC which rocketed into the goal, 3rd was a reverse stick sweep into an empty net from a couple of metres out after the ball broke free.

8/10/2005 - Bournville 4ths (Badgers) vs Olton 5ths - 3-1 Loss, no goals
Umpiring was shit, biased, incompetent and all the rest. Playing with the youngsters team, one of only 4 senior players, played well, conceded 2 goals when senior defence player was off injured/on recovering after one of their players hit his hand (whatever you need to win Olton...) Set up our goal with a placed free hit from the top of the D. Plenty of good runs but never quite the final touch, but lots of rain and nonsense umpiring spoiled the game. When one of the defence threatens violence towards a player (straight red card offence) and the referee does zip, you know it's going to be one of those days.

15/10/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Kings Heath Pickwick 5ths - 5-0 Win, 2 goals
First goal was a sweep forehand from the top of the D into the corner, 2nd was a reverse stick sweep under the keeper from inside the D.

22/10/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Droitwich Spa 4ths - 3-3 Draw, 1 goal
Game was spoiled by biased and incompetent umpiring, both were home players, doubt either of them ever seen a rules book, 3 deliberate feet to prevent through balls were unpunished, one at the top of the D, at the very least, that is a yellow card offence, a deliberate back stick clearence in the 23 let go (ought to be a PC) their goalie sat on the ball (is a PC), didn't roll off (Penalty Stroke), the ball got loose and goalie went back on it (PC/PS and card for keeper). Finally a tackle from behind on me, from at least a metre behind, basically tackling my legs as the player would never have got the ball from that position, inside the 23m line - PC and Yellow card at least, and we get a free hit. Shambolic umpiring, by clowns without a clue. Goal was a PS for something even those idiots couldn't miss, which was dispatched into the bottom corner.

29/10/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Stratford 4ths - 2-2 Draw, 0 goals
Had a penalty flick went just wide of the post and missed an easy one in the 2nd half, but otherwise, nothing really, our own umpire at one end was useless, didn't know basic rules of hockey, annoying really, should have won that one.

5/11/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Worcester 7ths - 5-0 Win, 2 goals
First goal was a hit from the top of the D, normal stick shot, second goal was a slap shot from inside the D which went under the keeper.

12/11/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Solihull Blossemfiled 4s - 4-1 Win, 3 goals
First goal was from a run into the D, then a scoop over the oncoming keeper, in the goal off the underside of the cross bar, second was from a penalty corner, ball was played to me around the spot and slap hit into the far corner. Third goal was a reverse stick into the bottom corner from near the top of the D.

19/11/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Old Silhillians 5 - Frozen Pitch, replayed on 4th December

26/11/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Warwick 5 - 7-0 Win, 2 goals
First goal was a flick from nearly on the back line passed the keeper in a narrow angle, second a reverse stick under keeper from inside the D.

3/12/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Stourport 7s - 5-1 Win, 5 goals
First goal was from a PC, slipped to me on the left and slap hit along the floor. Second was a reverse stick from a few metres out, around 1m up in the middle of 2 players. Third was from a quick free hit and I deflected it in on the reverse stick. 4th goal was from top of the D, cross from outside and slap hit it under the keeper. Fifth goal was right at the end, a flick over a round keeper from around 1m out.

4/12/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Old Silhillians 4s (re-arranged) - 7-0 Win, 2 goals
Both goals were reverse stick, one from the top of the D, the second after a run into the middle of the D and to the side of the keeper.

11/12/2005 - Bournville 4ths vs Worcester 6ths - 2-1 Loss, 1 goal
Perhaps the worst flick ever taken, squirmed under the keeper. Rest of the game was managed horribly with their umpires offering no protection to our kids as the players knocked them to the floor, pushed them over and generally bullied their way to a win with their only 2 shots going in, the 2nd being the most flukely deflection.
